Description
Build something remarkable, then make music with the Ugears Mechanical Model Celesta. This detailed wooden model is both a hands-on construction project and a working musical instrument once complete.
The Celesta combines ideas from a piano, music box and xylophone. In manual mode, each key moves a hammer that strikes a metal plate. In addition, you can use the rotating drum to program a melody and then play it by turning the handle.
The kit contains 573 precision-cut parts and assembles without glue or special tools. Once finished, the model measures about 28 × 28.5 × 12 cm. Assembly takes around eight hours, so it offers a satisfying project for keen builders, musicians and mechanical-model fans.
Because the finished model really plays music, the building experience does not end when the last piece is fitted. Instead, you can use the keys, program familiar tunes or experiment with your own melodies.
