Family Leporidae. It is distributed worldwide.

It weighs from about 1 – 5 Kilograms and attains a length of about 30 – 60 centimetres.

Rabbits feed at night mainly on herbs, tree bark and vegetables.

Rabbits prefer to live in regions where the soil is loose and dry and where shrubs offer shelter.

A rabbit bears 4 – 8 litters a year, with 3 – 8 young.

The gestation period lasts about a month and has a life span of up to 10 years.
